Dennis Schroder scored a game-high 17 points to lead Germany to a 61-55 victory over Italy in a Pool B game of the EuroBasket 2017 Tournament on Tuesday. The Italian team featured Schroder’s new Hawks teammate Marco Belinelli, who finished with 12 points. The game was played in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Schroder scored six points in the fourth quarter to pace Germany, which leads the group standings with a 3-1 record. He was 5 of 12 from the field, including 0 of 2 from 3-point range, with one rebound, four assists and six turnovers.

Belinelli was 4 of 18 from the field, including 2 of 9 from 3-point range, with four rebounds and two assists for Italy, which fell to 2-2.

Germany concludes Pool B play against Lithuania on Wednesday.

Through four games, Schroder is averaging 23.0 points, 5.0 assists, 5.5 turnovers and 2.3 rebounds. His point average is third in the tournament behind Slovenia’s Goran Dragic (25.0) and Finland’s Lauri Markkanen (24.3).

The top four teams in the groups of six advance to the single-elimination knockout stage. Germany has advance to the round of 16 for the first time since 2011.

The tournament runs through Sept. 17.
