Four Hawks games deemed classics will appear on TV screens beginning Friday.
Fox Sports Southeast will televise four games from recent seasons beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, with the Hawks playing against the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 6, 2015. The Hawks were riding a hot streak that saw them go 17-0 in January that year, on their way to a 60-22 regular-season record. The Warriors finished the regular season at 67-15, the NBA’s best record.
The second of the “Hawks Classics” is from the playoffs of the same season, May 1, 2015 and Game 6 of the first round. The Hawks played the Brooklyn Nets in that game, a series-clinching victory that propelled the team into the Eastern Conference semifinals. TV time for that one is 6 p.m. Sunday.
The third game is scheduled for 8 p.m. May 15. That game comes from April 9, 2017 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James. A big reason to watch this one is for the massive fourth-quarter outburst by the Hawks.
The final of the four games was played Dec. 6, 2013. Kyle Korver had a record-setting night, in a game also played against Cleveland, but without James. He was off playing in his final season with the Heat before he returned to the Cavs. This one can be viewed at 6 p.m. May 17.
According to a news release from the Hawks and Fox Sports Southeast, additional “Hawks Classics” games are planned, with details to come.
