Lloyd Pierce was scheduled to meet with Hawks on Tuesday about their vacant head coach position, a second interview that will include principal owner Tony Ressler. Pierce, currently an assistant for the 76ers, is one of four final candidates for the position.

Here are five things to know about Pierce:

1. Pierce played collegiately as Santa Clara University (1994-98). After graduating, he played professionally in Mexico, Australia, Germany and Turkey for four years before returning to his alma mater as an assistant coach.

2. While at Santa Clara, Pierce was in the same backcourt as Steve Nash and was part of the school's consecutive NCAA tournament appearances in 1995 and 1996. The guard averaged 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in four seasons.

3. Pierce joined the NBA in 2007 with the Cavaliers as a player coordinator. He remained until 2010 when he joined the Warriors as an assistant under Mark Jackson for one season. He joined the Grizzlies in 2011 as an assistant and player development coach under Lionel Hollins for two seasons. He joined the 76ers as an assistant inn 2013 as an assistant.

4. Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk was Warriors assistant general manager during the 2010-11 season when Pierce was an assistant coach.

5. 76ers head coach Brett Brown told the Philadelphia Inquirer on the possibility of Hawks hiring Pierce: "It's a no-brainer. I would hire Lloyd Pierce yesterday. Think about this: If a team came in and said, 'We want to rebuild.' I can't think of a more appropriate program that has gone from where we were to where we are that has a true story to tell."
