Dream forward Angel McCoughtry needed the second-fewest games to reach 4,000 points in WNBA history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
It took McCoughtry 206 games to score 4,000 points, second behind Diana Taurasi’s 197 games. McCoughtry reached the 4,000 point milestone in a 97-92 loss at the Chicago Sky on July 21st, the Dream’s last game.
McCoughtry, a seven-year veteran, has spent her entire career with the Dream and is a four-time All-Star. In this year’s All-Star game McCoughtry and Dream point guard Shoni Schimmel were Eastern Conference starters in the West’s 117-112 victory Saturday. McCoughtry scored nine points.
The Dream, last in the Eastern Conference, return to the floor Wedensday when they travel to San Antonio.
