Bynum among latest to have workout with Hawks

Add Will Bynum to the list of players the Hawks have worked out for a possible training camp invitation.

The former Georgia Tech guard was in Atlanta Wednesday, according to a report from Michael Scotto. The information was also included in a tweet from AON Brand-IDOTSports and retweeted by Jarrett Jack, who signed with the Hawks this summer and played at Georgia Tech with Bynum. The two were part of the Yellow Jackets’ Final Four team of 2004.

Bynum, 33, has played eight NBA seasons. He most recently appeared in seven games for the Wizards in 2014-15. He played a season with the Warriors and six seasons with the Pistons. He spent last season in the Chinese Basketball Association.

Although the Hawks already have 16 players under guaranteed contracts, and 17 overall, the team is looking to add a point guard and a front-line player to its camp roster. Training camp begins on Sept. 26 with media day followed by the first three days of practices at the University of Georgia.

The Hawks have brought many players in for workouts. Some players recently reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution include Ryan Kelly, Xavier Munford, Dionte Christmas and Richard Solomon.
