The Hawks waived Austin Daye on Thursday, clearing the way for a series of moves that can be made now that the NBA mortatorium is over.

Daye signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Hawks in April after playing out two 10-day contracts with the Hawks. The forward appeared in eight games for the Hawks and averaged 3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.5 minutes.

The move will give the Hawks a roster of 14 players once the signings of Paul Millsap and Justin Holiday and the trade for Tiago Splitter are announced.

In other salary cap related news, the Hawks renounced the rights of DeMarre Carroll, Pero Antic, Elton Brand, John Jenkins and Gustavo Ayon.
