End the Braves-Christian Yelich speculation.

The Marlins outfielder has been traded to Milwaukee, as first reported by The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal. The package includes top outfield prospect Lewis Brinson, Baseball America’s No. 18 overall prospect.

Yelich, 26, is controllable through 2022 for $58.25 million. His play and price made him the most coveted asset on the trade market. He fetched a much better return than fellow ex-Marlins outfielders Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna did earlier in the winter.

The Braves had consistent interest in Yelich, but refused to include No. 1 prospect Ronald Acuna in those discussions. Ultimately, the Marlins landed a promising young outfielder anyway.

Like the Braves, Milwaukee had to identity a time to cash in prospects for proven talent. The team is ahead of the Braves at this point, however, after competing for a playoff spot last season.

Miami could still move catcher J.T. Realmuto, whom the Braves have also held interest in. But the grand prize of Yelich is no longer on the table.
