What's new: In the first three games since manager Fredi Gonzalez shuffled the lineup, the Braves averaged 5.7 runs and their newly-reworked top three hitters were a combined 11-for-38 (.289), with three doubles, a homer and seven runs scored. Most importantly, they were getting on base. Nick Markakis had a .400 on-base percentage in the leadoff spot in that span, followed by Andrelton Simmons with a .333 on-base percentage in the No. 2 spot and Freddie Freeman with a .417 OBP back in the No. 3 hole. The Braves thought they were having defensive problems, committing 11 errors in their past seven games through Monday. The Nationals have them beat. Their four errors in the first game of this series gave the Nats a major-league high 22 errors. They were last in the majors in fielding percentage (.971).
