The pressure clearly didn’t faze Johan Camargo during Sunday’s 5-4 walk-off win over the Marlins.
Pinch-hitting in the bottom of the seventh inning, Camargo drove in the game-tying run with an RBI single. Ender Inciarte followed with a single of his own, and Camargo got aggressive on the base paths, riskily attempting to take third base with one out. Right as he began his slide to beat the throw from center field, Camargo calmly blew a perfect bubble as the umpire called him safe.
He would go on to score on Nick Markakis’ single, giving the Braves a 4-2 lead. After Miami came back to tie the game, Camargo scored the game-winning run off Brandon Phillips’ second consecutive walk-off hit.
The 23-year-old Camargo is batting .300 in 21 games this season.
