Braves' top prospect Dansby Swanson will play against many of the other top prospects in baseball as a member of the U.S. team in Sunday's All-Star Futures Game.

Swanson, 22, was the only Braves prospect selected to play in the annual game at San Diego’s Petco Park.

The former Marietta High School and Vanderbilt star was acquired by the Braves in a trade with the Arizona Diamonbacks for pitcher Shelby Miller last offseason.

Swanson is hitting .275 with 5 homers, 29 RBI and 44 strikeouts in 222 at-bats in Double-A Mississippi.

MLBPipeline.com's Jim Callis gave his assesment of Swanson, who is now paired with prospect Ozzie Albies in Mississippi (see video, below). Albies played in the game last year.

The Futures Game is part of the events and festivities leading up to the major league All-Star game July 12 at Petco. It will be broadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday on the MLB Network.
