How the winning run scored: Down 3-2, the Tides used a two walks, three singles, and a bases loaded double to score five in the bottom of the eighth.
At the plate: Braves had six hits, all singles except for Ernesto Mejia's double. Brandon Boggs, Jose Yepez and Luis Nunez had an RBI each.
On the mound: All five of the Tides 8th inning runs were charged to Luis Ayala, in Gwinnett on a rehab stint, who opened the inning in relief of Juan Cedeno. Cedeno had gave up one walk with one strikeout and no hits in two innings. Starter Kameron Loe gave up two runs on four hits with a walk and a strikeout in five innings. Wirfin Obispo finished by giving up one hit in one inning.
What's next for the G-Braves: The Braves (36-49) and Tides (45-39) will meet in game three of the five game series beginning at 7:05 p.m. in Norfolk. The Braves have lost four of their last six, including the last two to the Tides. They return home Thursday for two against the Charlotte Knights.
