The Braves have been perhaps baseball’s best team in the first inning through 32 games.

Here’s a look at the numbers:

1. The Braves have scored an MLB-high 35 runs in the inning. That's 19.7 percent of their season total, 178 entering Sunday, which also leads the league.

2. The Braves' .361 average and .701 slugging percentage in the first frame are both best in the majors. Ozzie Albies has helped that cause, leading off the past two games with a single (then advancing to second on an error) and double.

3. Other major-leagues best: Their 52 hits and 15 doubles in the first. The Braves' 10 homers rank second.

4. Fast starts can make a difference: The Braves are 17-5 when scoring four or more runs; they're 2-8 when held to three or fewer runs.

5. Despite blowing first-inning leads in both games against the Giants, the early offense has translated to wins. The Braves are 10-4 when ahead after a frame. They're 13-7 when scoring first.
