BOSTON – Five things about the Braves’ 6-2 loss to the Red Sox in Friday’s series opener at Fenway Park.

1. The Braves allowed a season-high four home runs. They've lost 13 consecutive games when they've allowed four or more homers, their last win in such circumstances coming against the Giants in a 12-inning, 9-8 game on Aug. 3, 2015.

2. It was the third loss in the first four games of a six-game trip for the Braves, after they'd won 11 of their previous 12 road games.

3. In their past nine games home and road, the Braves have gone 4-5 and hit just .233 with five homers and 29 runs, including 18 runs in consecutive wins against the lowly Marlins. In the other seven of their past nine games, the Braves totaled 11 runs including two runs or fewer five times. This followed a 24-game stretch from May 14 in which the Braves went 16-8 and hit .274 with 36 homers and 134 runs (5.6 per game).

4. Julio Teheran snapped a four-decision winning streak, which tied the longest of his career. He was 4-0 with a 3.15 ERA and .196 opponents' average over his past seven starts before losing Friday when he gave up four hits, three runs, two homers and three walks in six innings.

5. Nick Markakis, whose two-run double in the third inning gave the Braves a 2-0 lead, has hit .393 (35-for-89) in 22 games in May with nine extra-base hits, 16 RBIs and a .987 OPS. Markakis leads the majors in hits (66) and leads the National League in batting average (.345).
