Five things about the Braves, who were 16-11 entering May with one-sixth of the season completed.

1. They are 8-1 in day games, 8-10 at night. Their only day-game loss was April 14 at Chicago in freezing, windy, rainy conditions, where the Braves bullpen gave up nine runs in an eighth-inning walk-a-thon to give the Cubs a 14-10 win.

2. The Braves are 6-0 in rubber games – decisive third games in three-game series -- after going 4-10 in those situations a year ago.

3. They lead the majors in on-base percentage (.343) and lead the National League in runs (141), runs per game (5.59), batting average (.268), slugging percentage (.440), OPS (.781) and extra-base hits (101). Their 66 doubles were a franchise best through the end of April.

4. Ozzie Albies leads the majors with 22 extra-base hits, an individual pre-May franchise record and one shy of the major league record.

5. The Braves' 24 steals are tied with the Brewers for third in the majors and second in the NL, seven behind the Nationals. In 2017 the Braves tied for eighth in the league in steals with 77, which was 51 fewer than NL leader Milwaukee.
