CINCINNATI — There was nothing new to report on the condition of Braves rooke reliever Shae Simmons, who was scratched from a scheduled rehab appearance Wednesday at Triple-A Gwinnett due to recurring soreness in his pitching shoulder.

The right-hander is on the 15-day disabled list recovering from what was diagnosed as a shoulder strain, and manager Fredi Gonzalez said Friday that Simmons was still getting checked out and treated in Atlanta and that the diagnosis had not changed.
