A loss may be a loss, but Braves manager Brian Snitker is trying not to worry too much about a setback in a March spring training game.
Despite coughing up a 4-1 lead and watching the Houston Astros come back to win 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth Friday, Snitker focused on the positives rather than dwell on yet another defeat, one that leaves the Braves’ preseason mark at 6-14.
“It’s a typical spring training game out there,” Snitker said. “Balls go up and stop and drop. In the end, you are very fortunate to get a routine ground ball on these fields.
Though there were some unlucky bounces, Snitker remained constructive in his approach.
“There were really good plays made and good base running and some big hits. Overall it was a good day. I would have rather won it, but a lot of good things happened out there today.”
