PITTSBURGH — Upon further review, Braves reliever Shae Simmons will have another review. On his minor league rehab assignment, that is.

The hard-throwing rookie, on the disabled list recovering from a strained shoulder, gave up four runs, two hits and two walks without recording an out Monday in the second game of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said earlier Monday that team officials would evaluate Simmons after his Monday appearance to determine whether he was ready to be activated.

“Before we even consider anything, he’s going to pitch again (Wednesday),” Gonzalez said Tuesday. “And then we’ll reevaluate again.”

Simmons was placed on the 15-day DL on July 29, retroactive to July 27.
