NEXT: BRAVES AT MARLINS

Friday

Time: 7:10 p.m.

TV: SPSO

Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Julio Teheran (3-1, 4.74 ERA) vs. RH David Phelps (2-0, 2.90)

Comment: Just when the Braves thought they were onto something by pairing young catcher Christian Bethancourt with Teheran (six shutout innings vs. the Reds), the Nationals roughed Teheran up for six runs, 10 hits and two homers in his last outing. Teheran should have some good muscle memory when it comes to the Marlins, whom he beat 2-1 on opening day, allowing one run in six innings. Phelps moved into the Marlins rotation after Henderson Alvarez (shoulder) went on the DL. He is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in five outings as a starter.

Saturday

Time: 1:00 p.m.

TV: FS1

Probable starting pitchers: Braves LH Alex Wood (1-2, 4.28) vs. RH Mat Latos (1-3, 4.72)

Comment: First thing's first. Wood brings a hot bat into the game. He went 3-for-3 in his last start against the Nationals and he only had three hits in his previous 68 major league at-bats. Wood would like to break up another streak though. The Braves have lost each of his past six starts. His only win came against the Marlins, 12-2, on April 7. Latos remembers that game well. He didn't make it out of the first inning in his Marlins' debut (seven runs, two outs). Since then Latos is 1-2 with a 2.94 ERA.

Sunday

Time: 1:10 p.m.

TV: SPSO

Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Shelby Miller (4-1, 1.60) vs. RH Tom Koehler (2-3, 4.62)

Comment: Miller has allowed two or fewer earned runs in his first seven starts, the longest such streak ever for a player to start his Atlanta career. He and A.J. Burnett are tied for second in the NL in ERA behind Zack Greinke (1.52). When Koehler wasn't being tortured by Bryce Harper (three home runs on May 6), he has pitched well of late, allowing four runs in 18 1/3 innings before and after the six runs he allowed Washington. Koehler pitched well against the Braves in April, allowing two runs in each of his two starts against them (1-1, 3.18 ERA)
