Ronald Acuna extends career-long on-base streak

July 14, 2019

Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna owns a 19-game on-base streak, the longest of his career.

Acuna launched a game-tying homer in the seventh inning of Saturday’s game in San Diego, extending his streak. He also homered in Friday’s contest.

The reigning rookie of the year owned the second-longest on-base streak in baseball entering Saturday. Only Cleveland’s Carlos Santana boasted a lengthier streak at 30 games. Kansas City’s Whit Merrifield also entered the day having reached in 18 consecutive contests.

Acuna’s current streak had already set a career-best. His previous high mark was a 15-game run April 8-25.

Over the streak, Acuna has walked 11 times and scored 20 runs.
