A woman was arrested for trespassing after stalking Tim Tebow at the Mets' spring training facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida, ESPN and the New York Daily News reported.
Tebow, the former Heisman trophy-winning quarterback at Florida, is attempting to launch a career as a baseball player.
According to an incident report, 36-year-old Michelle Marie Thompson was given a trespass warning on February 26 and then arrested two days later after failing to heed instructions from the Port St. Lucie police department to leave the area.
The woman, who resides in Arvada, Colorado, told the police that she was in a "romantic" relationship with Tebow.
On Feb. 26, the responding officer noticed she had an "I [heart symbol] Jesus/Tim Tebow" on the back of her driver's license and that Thompson told police she lived with Tebow in Jacksonville. After the police officer asked whether Thompson was in a "friendly relationship, a platonic relationship, a romantic relationship or possibly a matrimonial relationship?" Thompson then responded, "giggling" and said "all of the above."
Thompson is being held on a $750 bond at the St. Lucie County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office website.
A criminal records search revealed that Thompson had a prior arrest for "indecent exposure" though she was not convicted.
