The Braves are – again – turning their stadium into a golf course.
For a limited time, of course.
From Oct. 25-29 (next Wednesday through Sunday), SunTrust Park will be converted into a nine-hole golf course by Stadiumlinks. The event is open to the public.
The Braves did the same thing with Turner Field for three days last year and the Padres did so at Petco Park.
Not to worry, grounds crew. There will be no divots. Shots will be taken from nine locations in the stands to on-field to targets with provided golf balls.
Registration will be offered in two-person and four-person bookings with prices starting at $85 per person. An upgrade is available with additional perks. Registration is now open at http://www.stadiumlinksgolf.com/locations/atlanta/.
Each player will be provided with nine complementary golf balls. Standard sized Mizuno golf clubs will be available for complimentary use at each of the nine holes. Golfers can bring their own clubs. The ballpark lights will illuminate the entire course for night play.
Golfers will be able to keep score based on where tee shots land. A shot close to the flag inside a painted ring is a birdie. A shot on the green outside of the ring is a par. A shot in a greenside bunker or the rough is a bogey. A shot that lands anywhere else is a double-bogey.
