CHICAGO — Infielder Tyler Pastornicky was placed on the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves' disabled list due to inflammation in his surgically repaired left knee.

Pastornicky tore the anterior cruciate ligament in that knee in August after colliding with Jason Heyward while the two pursued a pop fly in shallow right field. He was limited for the first month of spring training but made the Braves’ opening-day roster as a utility player.

Pastornicky hit .200 with a .300 OBP in 41 plate apparances in the majors this season, and was hitting .281 with a .321 OBP and four extra-base hits (one homer) and seven stolen base in 36 games (138 plate appearances) for Gwinnett.

Also Saturday, the Braves outrighted reliever Pedro Beato from their 40-man roster and assigned him to Gwinnett.
