One more rehab start for Braves’ Foltynewicz

April 11, 2019

Mike Foltynewicz will make one more rehab start in the minor leagues before joining the Braves’ starting pitching rotation.

Foltynewicz, who missed most of spring training because of elbow soreness,  will make his third rehab start for the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers on Monday.

“I’d like him to go 90 pitches, seven innings, something like that,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said Thursday.

Said Foltynewicz, who hasn’t pitched in a major-league game this season: “The arm feels great. … It’s just (a matter of) mixing all the pitches and being comfortable and not having to worry about this thing when I’m out on a big-league mound.”
