What's new: Andrelton Simmons had two extra-base hits against the Mets Sunday, including a two-run triple, to give him four extra-base hits in the first week of the season. Simmons had nine extra-base hits all of April in 2014. He was an instigator last Tuesday in Miami when the Braves rolled up seven runs on Latos in his Marlins debut. Simmons had a two-run single in a barrage of RBI hits by Freddie Freeman, Christian Bethancourt and Chris Johnson. Cody Martin has been a key part of the Braves' early bullpen success, pitching 3 1/3 scoreless innings and striking out seven of the first 11 major league batters he's faced. Braves relievers' scoreless run ended at 18 1/3 innings Sunday with a run off Juan Jaime, who walked the first two batters he faced.
