What's new: The Braves will face just their fifth left-handed starter all season in their 44th game of the season tonight in L.A. And with Clayton Kershaw to follow on Tuesday, it'll be the first time the Braves will have faced multiple left-handers in a series all season. The Braves are 2-2 in games started by lefties. Jonny Gomes, the platoon left fielder, has started just four times in the Braves' past 15 games. Center fielder Cameron Maybin extended his hitting streak to nine games with a single on Sunday against the Brewers and has hit .355 (11-for-31) over the streak. The Braves are back up over .500 at 22-21 for the first time in nearly a month. Their bullpen pitched 6 1/3 scoreless in the last two games to help the Braves take three of four in a series victory against the Brewers.
