Shelby Miller is writing his own record book during his nine-game winless streak.
He struck out 18 batters over his last two starts — 11 1/3 innings. That’s the most strikeouts he’s recorded in two games since he fanned 19 over 12 innings as a rookie Cardinal in June 2013.
He sat down eight batters in 6 1/3 shutout innings against the Phillies in Sunday’s 10-inning, 4-0 loss.
With Sunday’s no-decision, Miller has now gone winless since May 17 despite a 2.80 ERA in that span.
