This Georgia baseball player is coming home.

The Atlanta Braves traded pitcher Shelby Miller on Tuesday for a "package" of Arizona Diamondback players, including Cobb County native Dansby Swanson.

The 21-year-old grew up a Braves fan, played basketball at Marietta High School and was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 June draft out of Vanderbilt.

Braves president of baseball operations John Hart said it wasn't hard to decide on Swanson.

"It didn't hurt that Dansby Swanson was born and raised and played five minutes from our new ballpark and was an all-world guy at Vanderbilt and was the No. 1 pick in the draft, that our (scouts) loved," he said to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"How painful do you think that was, to have the No. 1 pick in the draft and trade him?"

Officials guess he could be ready for the big leagues as early as 2017.
