How the winning run scored: Derrick Mitchell's one-out solo homer to left in the top of the fourth inning gave Lehigh Valley a 2-0 lead over Gwinnett on Friday night.

At the plate: Atlanta Braves outfielder Jordan Schafer continued to struggle in his rehab assignment. In his eighth game for the G-Braves he was 0-for-4 to fall to 2-for-32 (.063) overall. Catcher Gerald Laird, also in an injury rehab game, was 0-for-3. The IronPigs outhit the G-Braves 16-8, with Cody Overbeck and Mitchell delivering three hits apiece to pace their offense.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Yohan Flande (7-7) allowed 10 hits and walked one in five innings, but gave up only three runs. He struck out five.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (51-70) and the IronPigs (61-60) meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Right-hander Cody Martin (2-3, 2.96 ERA) is scheduled to start for Gwinnett against left-hander Greg Smith (6-2, 2.50).
