Fredi Gonzalez might want to meet with the architects designing the Braves’ new stadium.

The manager came away impressed with Target Field following his All-Star Game experience this week. Gonzalez was part of the National League’s coaching staff for the game Tuesday in Minneapolis.

“It’s maybe the best stadium I’ve ever been to,” Gonzalez said Friday. “It’s my favorite.”

Gonzalez said he was impressed with the proximity of the dugout to the field and the ease of watching a game from the seat. He said, believe it or not, it’s not always that way from dugouts. His view came from the visiting side. He said he could only imagine the amenities for the home team.

Gonzalez said he sent a text to general manager Frank Wren, who is on the committee that is designing the Braves new stadium set to open in Cobb County in 2017. Wren has sought Gonzalez’s opinion at times during the process. Gonzalez said simply ‘My favorite field.’
