LOS ANGELES – The Braves recalled right-hander John Gant from Triple-A Gwinnett after placing starting pitcher Mike Foltynewicz on the 15-day disabled list Saturday.

Foltynewicz has bone spurs in his pitching elbow and the Braves hope to have him back in two weeks. Bud Norris moved from the bullpen to take what had been Foltynewicz’s scheduled start Saturday against the Dodgers.

Gant was flown to Los Angeles on Saturday morning to fill the bullpen vacancy. The rookie has had three previous stints with the Braves this season and posted a 7.00 ERA in five relief appearances, with 12 strikeouts, four walks and two homers allowed in nine innings.

At Gwinnett he’s gone 3-0 with a 3.14 ERA in eight games (seven starts) this season while totaling 48 strikeouts with 13 walks in 43 innings.
