Sixteen home games into the season, the Diamondbacks’ bullpen cart finally found a rider.
Houston Astros relief pitcher Collin McHugh made history Saturday in Arizona, becoming the first pitcher in more than two decades to make the journey from the bullpen in a golf cart.
The former started turned reliever seems to have enjoyed the experience and did not seem to have affected his performance. (McHugh allowed a hit and two walks in 1-1/3 innings of work in Houston’s 4-3 loss.)
It was my honor. But if you could take me all the way to the hill next time that would be great. Thx! https://t.co/GBUYKLwV8v

McHugh was drafted by the New York Mets in the 18th round of the 2008 baseball draft out of Berry College in Rome, Ga.
