The Braves will have two starters for the National League in the 2019 All-Star game July 9 - first baseman Freddie Freeman and outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr.
Here are five things to know about the two Braves stars:
- Freeman will start for the National League for the second straight year and he’s making his fourth All-Star appearance overall.
- Freeman leads all National league first basemen with 100 hits and ranks second with 22 doubles and tied for third with 22 home runs.
- Freeman is the second player in franchise history with 20 doubles, 20 homers, 60 runs and 60 RBI before the All-Star break, joining Gary Sheffield in 2003.
- Acuna, the National League rookie of the year in 2018, is making his first All-Star appearance.
- Acuna is batting .287 with 19 home runs and 51 RBI this season.
