Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte was back in the lineup Tuesday after leaving Monday’s game early with left quad tightness.
Inciarte, who missed 55 games with a lumbar strain earlier this season, exited in the seventh inning of the Braves’ 5-3 loss in Minnesota. Manager Brian Snitker said after the game that the team would see how Inciarte felt Tuesday before deciding what’s next.
The Gold Glover outfielder showed no signs of being hampered by the injury and started in center, hitting ninth, against Twins righty Jose Berrios. Since Inciarte returned from the injured list July 18, he’s reached base safely in eight of nine starts, posting four multi-hit games in that span.
“He feels really good,” Snitker said. “It’s good we got him out of there as a precaution last night. We’ll probably give him tomorrow off. He feels good, and hopefully it won’t tighten up on him during the game.”
The Braves already are working with a tweaked outfield after losing Nick Markakis until mid-September, decreasing Austin Riley’s playing time during his extended slump and seeing the return of Adam Duvall.
