Right-hander Chris Ellis will make his Triple-A debut Saturday night for the Gwinnett Braves.

Ellis, rated by MLB.com as the No. 13 prospect in the Braves organization, was promoted from Double-A Mississippi on Friday.

Ellis and the G-Braves are on the road against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Ellis made 13 starts for the M-Braves and was 8-2 with a 2.75 ERA. Opponents hit .201 against him, and he has a 1.13 WHIP. He struck out 61 in 78 2/3 innings and allowed only two home runs.

The RailRiders rank second in the International League in batting average (.261) and runs scored (306) and rank tied for fourth in home runs and third in OPS.

A former Ole Miss Rebel, Ellis was acquired from the Angels in the trade that sent Andrelton Simmons to Los Angeles in November.
