Braves

Julio Teheran pitched his second shutout of the year, only 10 starts into it. On April 16, he beat Cliff Lee and the Phillies 1-0. This time it was the Brewers’ Yovani Gallardo, who was out of the game with an injury after allowing four runs in only 3 1/3 innings. He lowered his ERA to 1.92 on his 128th pitch of the night. The Braves won 5-0. “He’s proving himself to be the ace of the team,” said SS Andrelton Simmons.

Marlins

Jacob Turner (0-2) dropped to 0-11 in 18 career road starts. Turner: “All I can do is go out and give it everything I have,” he said. “Wins, losses, those are things I can’t control.” His 109 pitches vs. the Giants last week were his most since July 10, 2013, against Atlanta. … 2B Rafael Furcal began baseball activities in Jupiter. “It just means he’s been running, hitting. He hasn’t started playing games yet,” manager Mike Redmond told the Miami Herald. “He’s got to go through that whole process again and get his legs in shape before he starts playing. We’re still a ways out from him playing in any games.”

Mets

Matt Harvey whines about team wanting rehab in Florida: “I guess having a life outside of baseball is sometimes not OK.” … Manager Terry Collins is tired of talking about CF Juan Lagares’ playing time. Collins has four outfielders he wants to get regular at-bats, so someone is the odd man out each night. Collins: “He got into a little bit of a funk. It’s not like I sat him for seven days. I sat him for two days, for cripes sake. We’re getting a little carried away here. Somebody gets a day off and it’s like the sky’s falling in. It’s not. He’s the center fielder.”

Nationals

1B Adam LaRoche (right quad strain) took grounders last week for the first time since going on the DL on May 10. … 3B Ryan Zimmerman (right thumb fracture) saw an occupational therapist to get a splint and that will allow him to start throwing the ball. There’s still no timetable for his return.

Phillies

A.J. Burnett (3-3), who pitched for the Marlins from 1999-2005, won his first start at Marlins Park despite struggling with his command. “I’m tired of hearing the word ‘battled,’” Burnett said with a smile. “But it’s the truth, so you’ve got to say it.” Although the veteran right-hander has been less than sharp in several starts, he’s 3-3 with a 3.32 ERA. “I’ve been able to make a pitch here or there to minimize the damage,” he said. The victory was the 150th in his career. … Team president David Montgomery had surgery to remove cancer from his right jaw bone. Montgomery has been a part-owner of the Phillies since 1981. He turns 68 next month.
