How the winning run scored: Brandon Guyer's single to center field with one out in the third inning drove home Jason Bourgeois to give host Durham a 2-0 lead on Wednesday night.

At the plate: Todd Cunningham (2-for-3) and Tyler Pastornicky (2-for-4) combined for four of Gwinnett's five hits. Neither team produced an extra-base hit. Pastornicky had the G-Braves' only RBI, on a ground out in the eighth inning.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Brandon Beachy, in what may be his final injury rehab start before returning to the Atlanta Braves' active roster, pitched six innings. He gave up two runs on two hits (both singles) and four walks and struck out three. He threw 86 pitches, 51 for strikes.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (45-60) and the host Bulls (66-39) conclude their series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday. Gwinnett right-hander Cody Martin (2-1, 2.94 ERA) is scheduled to start against righty Merrill Kelly (4-1, 2.57).
