How the winning run scored: In the bottom of the fourth inning, Durham's Leslie Anderson scored on a passed ball that gave the Bulls a 1-0 lead over Gwinnett on Friday night.

At the plate: Evan Gattis of the Atlanta Braves, in his first game of an injury-rehab assignment, played DH and was 0-for-4. He struck out swinging in his first two plate appearances, and he flew out to center and grounded out to second. He has been on the disabled list since June 18. Gwinnett's Joe Leonard was 3-for-4 (two doubles). The G-Braves managed five other hits, all singles.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter David Hale (3-5) lasted five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks. He struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (41-55) and the Bulls (61-35) meet again Saturday, with Gwinnett right-hander Joe Bisenius (3-1, 5.31 ERA) scheduled to start against righty Matt Buschmann (4-0, 2.56) in a 7:05 p.m. start.
