Braves prospect Ian Anderson was named the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week after he struck out a career-high 11 batters in six scoreless innings for Class A Rome in a 6-2 win over Augusta.

Anderson allowed one hit and walked one in lowering his season ERA from 4.37 to 3.73. MLB.com ranks him the Braves’ No. 6 prospect, fourth among pitchers. He was the Braves’ first-round pick -- third overall -- in the 2016 draft, out of Shenendehowa High School in Ballston Lake, N.Y.

Anderson entered the night against Augusta with a May ERA of 6.88. Last season, with two teams in Rookie League, he had a 2.72 ERA in 39.2 innings pitched.
