How the game was won: The Braves scored four runs in the fifth inning to open a 6-1 lead and hung on for a 7-5 win against the Phillies that gave Atlanta its first consecutive wins since a 5-0 start. Andrelton Simmons had three hits including a homer, and Freddie Freeman stayed hot with three hits including a pair of doubles that drove in three runs for the Braves, who won the series, 2-1.

Number: 3. RBIs for Braves rookie pitcher Mike Foltynewicz in his first two major league starts, both wins. He had a two-run double Friday against the Reds in his Braves debut, and added a sacrifice fly Wednesday. Foltynewicz was charged with seven hits and four runs in 5 1/3 innings, the last two runs scored on hits against relievers.

What's next: The Braves are off Thursday and will travel to Washington, D.C., where they start a three-city, nine-game trip on Friday night. Lefties Eric Stults of the Braves and Gio Gonzalez of the Nationals face off in the series opener.
