How the game was won: The Braves trailed 2-0 before scoring three runs in the seventh inning and two in the eighth in a 5-2 win over the Phillies that snapped a four-game losing streak and kept their record from slipping below .500 for the first time. Andrelton Simmons led off the seventh with a first-pitch homer and the Braves got two-out, run-scoring hits from Chris Johnson and Eric Young Jr. to take the lead. Shelby Miller (3-0) pitched six strong innings, allowing three hits, two runs and two walks.

Number: 13. Number of consecutive starts that Miller has made without a loss, going back to early August while with the Cardinals. He's 3-0 in four starts for the Braves and 5-0 with a 2.07 ERA in his past 11 starts, with his teams winning nine of those games.

What's next: The Braves and Phillies play the rubber game of the three-game series Sunday at 1:35 p.m., when right-hander Trevor Cahill (0-2, 9.95 ERA) makes his third start for the Braves against righty Jerome Williams (1-1, 3.71).
