How the winning run scored: One run was all the Gwinnett Braves needed Sunday at home against the Toledo Mud Hens, and they got it in the first inning. With one out and runners on first and second, Ernesto Mejia drove a home run over the left-field wall. Corey Wimberly and Todd Cunningham scored on the play. The homer was Mejia's 12th of the season, and the victory was the G-Braves' fourth consecutive.

At the plate: The G-Braves recorded 15 hits (including five doubles and two homers), and six batters had two apiece — Brandon Boggs, Alden Carrithers, Sean Kazmar, Matt Pagnozzi, Cunningham and Wimberly. Boggs also hit a homer.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Tim Corcoran (3-3) lasted six innings, allowing four hits and walking four, but no runner scored. He struck out two.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (21-30) open a four-game road series against the Syracuse Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Gwinnett right-hander Omar Poveda (3-3, 2.52 ERA) is scheduled to face righty Ryan Tatusko (0-1, 2.97).
