The Braves' High-Single A team will skip its next series following Tuesday's bus accident in North Carolina that sent at least seven players to the hospital with injuries.

The Carolina Mudcats were finishing up an eight-game road trip and traveling from Salem, Va., to Myrtle Beach, S.C., when their charter bus with 33 people on board flipped in Columbus County, N.C., about 4 a.m. Tuesday. Seven players and a team trainer were treated for injuries.

Carolina League president John Hopkins said in a statement Wednesday that the three-game series between the Mudcats and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans would be postponed and rescheduled so Mudcats players could be further evaluated and treated for their injuries. The Braves said none of the players was seriously injured without providing further updates.

The Braves' Single-A affiliate returned Tuesday from Myrtle Beach to Zebulon, N.C., 25 miles east of Raleigh. This is the Mudcats' first season as an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and their fourth straight in the Carolina League.

The Mudcats are 19-12 and sit a half game behind the Pelicans in the Southern Division standings.
