How the game was won: Cameron Maybin's two-run single in the 11th inning lifted the Braves to a 5-3 win against the Mets, after Atlanta had scored two runs in the ninth on singles by Maybin and Freeman to force extra innings. Freeman's two-out homer in the first inning off Mets ace Jacob deGrom was all the offense the Braves could muster until the ninth, when they staged anonther late-innings rally. Braves starter Shelby Miller had a five-hit shutout and 1-0 lead until the seventh, when he gave up two runs on three hits, then was charged with another run on a double allowed by reliever Dana Eveland.

Number: 0. Home runs allowed by the Mets' deGrom in his past 15 home starts before Saturday, when Freeman hit his 12th homer of the season.

What's next: The Braves will try to win the series when they face the Mets in a 1:10 p.m. finale Sunday. Atlanta rookie Mike Foltynewicz (3-2, 4.72 ERA) faces right-hander Dillon Gee (0-4, 4.50).
