How the game was won: The Braves scored a run in four consecutive innings through the fifth to build a 4-0 lead over the Giants, and Atlanta rookie Williams Perez made it stand before the Braves tacked on more in a 8-0 win that gave them a 2-4 record on their 10-game trip. Perez pitched seven innings of four-hit ball to earn his first win in his third major league start and also got his first hit. Jace Peterson had his first three-hit game, including a triple and a double, and Braves newcomer Juan Uribe doubled and hit a long two-run homer in the ninth against one of his former teams.

Number: 1. Number of runs that Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum had allowed during his four-start home winning streak before Saturday, when the Braves got eight hits and four runs against the veteran in 4 1/3 innings.

What's next: The Braves and Giants play the finale of their four-game series Sunday at 4:05 p.m. (Eastern), with Julio Teheran (4-2, 4.91 ERA) facing San Francisco ace Madison Bumgarner (6-2, 3.00).
