The Braves’ series finale against the Cubs was rained out Thursday night at SunTrust Park and will be made up Aug. 30 at 7:35 p.m.
All fans holding a paid ticket for Thursday’s game can exchange it for a ticket to any remaining 2018 regular-season Braves home game, subject to availability.
This was the fourth rainout at SunTrust Park since it opened in 2017 and the second this season. The Braves and Mets will make up the other postponed game in a split doubleheader May 28 at SunTrust.
The Braves and Cubs have played two series this season and the series finale of each was postponed by inclement weather. The teams made up an April 15 postponement on Monday with a stand-alone game at Wrigley Field.
The Aug. 30 makeup date for Thursday’s game falls on what would’ve been an open date in the middle of a Braves eight-game homestand, which is now a nine-game homestand Aug. 28-Sept. 5. The Braves will host the Cubs after playing two home games against the Rays and before three-game series against the Pirates and Red Sox on that homestand.
The Braves were still discussing their pitching plans late Thursday. Rookie Max Fried was called up from Triple-A earlier in the day to start Thursday after Mike Soroka was placed on the 10-day disabled list, and the Braves could skip that turn in the rotation now or give all of their starters an extra day of rest by having Fried pitch Friday’s series opener against the Marlins.
