The Braves celebrated the 100th anniversary of their 1914 World Series during Saturday’s game against the A’s.

Both teams wore retro 1914 uniforms – although they did include numbers. The Braves wore a cream colored jersey with a red ‘B’ on the chest. The A’s wore a gray jersey with a black ‘A’ on the chest.

In 1914, the “Miracle Braves” had a 26-40 record on July 4th. They went 68-19 (.782) over the final 87 regular-season games. They went from 15 games out to first place in about seven weeks. They won the league by 10-1/2 games. The Boston Braves swept the Philadelphia A’s, managed by Connie Mack, in four games for the World Series title.

The Braves also marked the occasion with reduced concession prices and the Braves Vision took on the look of a vintage scoreboard.
