How the winning run scored: Joe Leonard's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the third inning drove home Ernesto Mejia and Philip Gosselin and gave Gwinnett a 3-0 lead over Durham on Wednesday night. The G-Braves scored all six of their runs in the inning.
At the plate: Jose Yepez joined Leonard in having a two-RBI night for Gwinnett. Jose Constanza, Gosselin and Mejia each had two hits for the G-Braves. Gwinnett had 10 hits, getting extra-base hits from Todd Cunningham (triple) and Yepez (double.)
On the mound: G-Braves starter Yohan Flande (8-7) allowed two runs (neither earned) on three hits and four walks in seven innings, throwing 99 pitches. He struck out seven.
Up next for Gwinnett: The teams are scheduled to meet again at 6:05 p.m. Thursday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Right-hander Cody Martin (2-4, 3.97 ERA) is scheduled to start for Gwinnett (54-72) against righty Merrill Kelly (6-3, 3.45).
