How the winning run scored: With two outs in the fifth inning, Gwinnett's Stefan Gartrell drove in Todd Cunningham and Joey Terdoslavich with a single that gave the G-Braves a 6-1 lead over visiting Buffalo on Thursday night.

At the plate: Four players had two apiece for Gwinnett — Luis Nunez, Cunningham, Gartrell and Terdoslavich. Ernesto Mejia, Alden Carrithers and Nunez hit homers for the G-Braves, and Carrithers and Gartrell each drove in two runs. Buffalo's Ryan Goins was 4-for-5. Mauro Gomez and Luis Jimenez each hit homers in Buffalo's four-run ninth.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Joe Bisenius (2-0) gave up one run in six innings. He allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (36-46) and the Bisons (40-39) conclude their series at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Gwinnett right-hander Omar Poveda (5-4, 3.39 ERA) is scheduled to start against former G-Braves righty Todd Redmond (2-1, 7.47).
