The Braves activated Sam Freeman from the 10-day disabled list on Sunday, returning the left-hander reliever from his rehabilitation assignment. To make room on the roster, the Braves optioned left-hander Kolby Allard to Triple-A Gwinnett.
The moves came before the Braves hosted the Rockies in the finale of a four-game series at SunTrust Park.
Freeman missed the past 20 games due to shoulder inflammation.
Freeman appeared in three minor league rehabilitation games with an 1-0 record and 3.38 ERA. He struck out two in a scoreless inning for Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday in his final rehab appearance.
