Key thoughts for Atlanta United

Montreal, picked by many to be among the worst teams in the East, earned four points in its first two games AND scored a combined six goals. It has since picked up one point in its past two games and hasn’t scored. Turns out, scoring high-quality goals, which is what happened in the first two games, isn’t easy.

Montreal’s defense is probably the worst that Atlanta United has faced this season. It gave up two goals on set pieces in last week’s 2-0 loss to Vancouver.

If the Five Stripes can’t take advantage, at home no less, it could be a sign that it’s going to be a long season.
